Cedric Masters Group has officially opened its new assembly plant in Lagos, marking a major milestone in the company's long-term commitment to local vehicle manufacturing in Nigeria. The facility, located in the Lekki industrial corridor, consolidates the Group's assembly operations into a purpose-built site equipped with modern production lines, advanced quality-control systems, and dedicated capacity for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The new plant is the result of more than two decades of investment in automotive assembly, distribution, and after-sales support. From its early days as a vehicle importer and distributor, Cedric Masters has steadily built the technical capability, supplier relationships, and operational discipline required to assemble vehicles locally to global standards. The new facility is the clearest expression yet of that long-term strategy.
The plant is configured for flexibility. Production lines can switch between sedan, SUV, bus, and commercial truck assembly with minimal retooling, allowing Cedric Masters to respond quickly to changing market demand. A separate, smaller line is dedicated to the assembly of electric vehicles from partner brands and the integration of locally assembled EV charging hardware. The site also houses a quality inspection centre, a training facility for technicians, and a parts warehouse.
For Nigeria, the new plant is more than a corporate investment; it is a vote of confidence in the country's industrial future. Local assembly shortens supply chains, lowers the cost of vehicles, supports domestic component manufacturing, and creates skilled jobs. It also strengthens Nigeria's ability to participate in the global shift to electric mobility on its own terms. Cedric Masters will continue to work with industry bodies, government agencies, and local component manufacturers to deepen the local content base and make Nigerian-assembled vehicles a globally competitive proposition.
